We won another PromaxBDA UK Award!
Another year and another gong picked up at the PromaxBDA UK Awards, an annual celebration of British television marketing, promotion, branding and design. This time I was part of the winning creative team behind a brand promo for television soap Hollyoaks. For those on international shores, Hollyoaks is one of the UK’s leading soaps and is broadcast on the network I currently work for – Channel 4. It follows the lives, loves and drama of a small community in a fictional town, with storylines ranging from sexy love triangles and serial killers to harder hitting issues such as racism, self harm, mental illness and domestic abuse.
The Channel 4 and 4Creative project team I was a part of were tasked with devising and producing a brand campaign that summed up the soap’s promise that life (in all it’s joy, drama and glory) happens ‘here’. It was then broadcast on-air (on C4 and other networks) and across social for the majority of 2019. Shortly after the campaign went live in May earlier this year, the soap was voted Britain’s Best Soap at the prestigious British Soap Awards 2019. To say it’s been a great year is an understatement.
This was definitely one of my favourite campaigns to work on; you can watch in full below.
